For one of my videos I have chosen the film on Andy Warhol Images of an Image because I've always remembered him as a very interesting character and was curious as to what light this video was going to shed on him. My second choice was Abstract Impressionism and Pop: Art of the 50's and 60's and was chosen due to my personal interest in that era alone, between the 1920's, 50's and 60's they are all my favorite time period based on the fancy and lifestyles.
Andy Warhol's video focused on his piece Ten Lizes and the history of his ever interesting art that was strong in repetition. It also focuses on his fascinating with photos of celebrities and is known to become famous off of the faces of Marilyn Monroe after her death, and then moved on to Elizabeth Taylor.
The film on Abstract Impressionism focused on Pop art.The concepts revolved around the title itself, abstract paintings are not to be looked at and understood but to be felt and given meaning.
The films relate to the text by touching base on some aspects of the chapters but not largely. I felt the films were very easy to understand as well as incredibly informative. They add depth by giving me a greater knowledge on bits and pieces of subjects or topics covered in the text.
